Quilt Shop In Red Lodge Montana
We made it!
The Quilt Lodge is at it's physical location in Red Lodge Montana, right across the street from the post office at 114 South Hauser. This has been an adventure setting up this shop, but I think it's taken on a little local flavor. We've added fabric every week, and can't wait until the new orders arrive.
We have been on task cutting and packaging quilt kits together for those easy pick up items. There are so many ideas for new quilts my mind is going a little crazy! We have books with great quilt patterns and instructions, just enough to get your mind to thinking about what to do next.
We are using a swoon block for a flag to help people find us until our sign is complete. We are using the locals Back Alley Metals, and they are pretty busy so I'm hoping in the next couple of weeks I can post a picture of my new sign.
I went to the local guild meeting on Monday night in Billings, it's called Quilt By Association. One of my favorite things to see at the guild meeting is the show and tell, that's where guild members show off their work. Here's a link to the show and tell page so you can get ideas: QBA
Red Lodge Montana has been replacing water mains right down main street, just had to be done. Many of the local businesses have been creatively dealing with the construction. Hanging together seems to be the theme, which is also part of the local flavor. I invite everyone to come to Red Lodge and enjoy the festive nature of the town.
I've been meeting people from all over the world! They are passing through Yellowstone Park and stopping in Red Lodge Montana for fun!
I've been in business just three weeks and I've met quilters from Denmark, England, China, Alaska and yesterday Austrailia. You can tell they are quilters because they know the quality brand names and express their joy at finding a Quilt Shop in Red Lodge, MT.
In Austrailia, fabrics that are about $10.50 to $11.00 here are $24.00 and up per yard! So many of these quilters are always looking online for fabric to have it shipped to Austrailia. Apparently there is not a duty to pay, but the shipping is expensive. I can adjust my shipping charges to reflect the rates per pound to Austrailia if needed.
